Jose Gonzalez is one my favorite musicians and his band Junip released one of the best albums of 2013 earlier this year. Naturally, I was very excited to be able to collaborate with them on a gig poster for their show at The Cedar in Minneapolis. The poster is an 18×24, four color screen print ( gray, white, yellow and blue) on 100#C French Construction Blacktop. A limited number are for sale at the paypal link above or in my etsy shop.

I was fortunate to have the opportunity to work with Sea Wolf on a second gig poster for their May 30th show at The Cedar in Minneapolis. It’s always fun to work with Alex and Tim and the Cedar. Here’s hoping the come play Minneapolis again very soon. The print is a 4 color screen print (yellow, light gray, medium gray, & brown) on 100#C French Construction Blacktop. Prints are available at the paypal link above or at my etsy shop.

I am incredibly thrilled and honored to have my Sea Wolf poster included in this year’s Communication Arts Illustration Annual. The annual this year is packed with amazing illustration from so many incredibly talented illustrators; I highly recommend picking up a copy. Thanks to the judges and Communication Arts for selecting my work.

New Work: Sharon Van Etten

I was fortunate to work with Sharon Van Etten on a gig poster for her recent show with Tennis at First Ave. in Minneapolis. The design was inspired by the lyrics and music of her excellent new album, Tramp. The poster is a three color (green, black and gray) 18 x 24 screen print on heavyweight cream stock (French Construction Whitewash). You can buy a print at my etsy shop or at the paypal button above. Thanks to Sharon and her manager, Ben, for the opportunity to work on this with them.

New Work: The Rural Alberta Advantage

I was fortunate enough to work with the band The Rural Alberta Advantage on another gig poster for their September 24th show at First Ave. The band always put on a great show and Nils, Paul and Amy are three of the nicest people you’d ever want to meet. It’s always fun to work with them. This print is a three color screen print (black, light gray and yellow) on heavyweight dark blue stock (French Construction Steel Blue) and was inspired by their song “Tornado ’87”. You can purchase a print at the link above. Be sure to check out both of their LPs: Hometowns and The Departing.

New Work: The Rural Alberta Advantage

I recently had the opportunity to work with The Rural Alberta Advantage on another gig poster, this time for their sold-out show at First Ave on March 25. The poster is an 18×24, three color (dark blue, tan and dark red) screen print on off white, heavyweight stock (French Construction Recycled White) and was printed by The Half and Half. The design was inspired by their latest album, Departing, released earlier this month and a limited number of posters are for sale at the paypal link above. The poster for the band’s 2010 show at The Cedar Cultural Center is also available for purchase. A big thanks to the band for the chance to work with them again! I’ll update this post in the new couple days with a few detail shots.

The Show ’10: Silver

The Rural Alberta Advantage gig poster I designed was awarded a Silver pin at The Show. The Show is AdFed’s annual award show featuring the best in Twin Cities advertising and design. It’s an honor to be recognized, especially given the huge amount of talent in the Twin Cities advertising and design community. Special thanks to The Show, The Rural Alberta Advantage and The Cedar Cultural Center.

Two American Graphic Design Awards

The Rural Alberta Adavantage and The Antlers gig posters have both won 2010 American Graphic Design Awards.  The annual will be published in the December issue of GDUSA, a monthly publication that gives an informative look at the design industry. It’s free to creative professionals in the US. Thanks to GDUSA for selecting my work!
